If u have past due payments being reported negatively, how long does it take for it to go back to po

I have a 7yr auto loan that I was past due on up to 90 days at one point and it was being reported on my credit report as a negative account. I have since caught that balance up completely and have paid on time every month after that but it%26#039;s still showing up on my credit as a negative account. In the %26quot;status%26quot; section is says the account will go to a positive status in Apr 2014 which is two years after it will be paid off. How long should it take for it be reported as an account in good standing or will it always be reported that way because I fell behind? I%26#039;m really trying to bounce back after my hubby was out of work on a 3 month unpaid medical leave and I want to repair my credit standing as best as I possibly can.

I would contact the credit agency and get them to revert that.

The late payments will remain on the report for seven years. However, if you%26#039;re caught up and now paying on time, their negative impact will lessen as time passes.

It will be on the report, but the importance will go down as time goes by. Stay current from here on and don%26#039;t worry about it.
