Car hire damage waiver, value for money or rip off?

I%26#039;ve recently been in a non fault accident and have been given a courtesy car while mine is being repaired. The credit car hire company sold me a %26quot;damage waiver%26quot; for 鎷?.70 a day incase the hire car gets scratched whilst I have it so I don%26#039;t have to pay 鎷?00 incase it does get scratched.

I have absolutly no idea if paying for this waiver is a good idea or some sort of finicial rip off? Could someone enlighten me?

Whenever we hire a car we always take out the additional insurances offered - it gives you peace of mind. If you were to be in an accident, you would basically have to pay out a small fortune.

A small price to pay if you ask me.

Looks like another way to mug the punter.

Check your insurance and credit cards. They might offer it

It%26#039;s probably worthwhile if you are bothered about paying the 100. Almost anything counts as damage now, and the renter will want any fixes done like now by his choice of repairer
